9th World Baptist Youth Congress Launched

| The countdown has begun! 151 days to the start of the 9th World Baptist Youth Congress! In a meeting with the Youth Leaders last November 6, 2008, Pastor Jun unveiled the Congress logo and got the ball rolling for this major highlight of KAYA Cebu's Youth Ministry . (see the KAYA Cebu Yahoo Group page for the design) The 9WBYC is slated for April 6-9, 2009 --- coinciding with the Holy Week holidays. This will definitely allow you working professionals the chance to join the Congress! The theme for this coming Congress is "Let me see this world, dear Lord...", taken from John 4:35 (Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.) This will be the 29th Youth Congress since the first National Baptist Youth Congress held in 1981. Through the blessed history of the Congress, we have seen hundreds of young people commit their lives to Christian service and ministry. Much more than a social gathering, the Youth Congress is an opportunity for young men and women to realize and respond to the need of spreading the Gospel around their neighborhood, their cities, their provinces, their country, and around the world. We will be updating you with more information as it comes. Letters are now getting readied to be sent out to Pastors and Churches around the country. Make sure to ask your Pastor or Youth Pastor if they receive a letter from us. If not, send us an email at kaya_cebu@yahoo.com . In the meantime, we ask you to do two things: 1. PRAY for the Youth Leaders of KAYA Cebu as they get things ready. The Youth Congress is no small feat. It will require sacrifices in time, energy and money. Pray that they will be given the strength and wisdom for all the work that needs to be done. 2. PLAN to attend! Don't wait for the last minute to decide. DECIDE NOW! Determine that you will start saving up for it. Make your boss at work aware already that you will be taking a leave during that week. Do it NOW!
